Fridge With Soda Dispenser
Posted on 11.09.05 by Patent My Ideas @ 2:09 am

A refrigerator that dispenses crushed/cubed ice, water, and your favorite soda.

Does this exist already?

I’m not talking about a fridge with a dispenser compartment that you can fill up. I am referring to a fridge with syrup and carbon dioxide compartments. The soda pop should get mixed on the spot, like it does in commercial soda dispensers.

Extra Tall Kleenex Tissue Box
Posted on 11.09.05 by Patent My Ideas @ 2:03 am

An extra tall box of tissues would sit on the floor next to any bed, chair, or sofa. It would be so tall that no table underneath would be necessary.

This great invention would be a dream come true for people with severe allergies.

A height of two feet would be sufficient.

Mug with Multiple Handles
Posted on 08.11.05 by Patent My Ideas @ 11:15 pm

This mug has multiple handles so that you can share coffee, juice, etc. with your sweetheart while sitting across or at an angle from him or her.

The extra handles might get annoying while you are trying to drink. To avoid this problem, there should be enough drinking space between handles. Maybe three or four handles would be optimal.

Pedestrian Horn
Posted on 06.21.05 by Patent My Ideas @ 1:42 am

Cars and bicycles have horns, which come in handy especially to avoid dangerous situations. Pedestrians do not have horns, and except for the occasional screaming pedestrian, they are basically silent.

A pedestrian horn would help pedestrians avoid dangerous situations. It could be worn as a necklace or watch, or even slung over a shoulder like a purse.

It would be especially useful for crossing the street in crosswalks without stoplights.

3 in 1 Washer-Dryer-Folder
Posted on 05.13.05 by Patent My Ideas @ 6:14 pm

I was about to invent the 2 in 1 Washer-Dryer, but then I did a quick internet search and realized that it had already been invented:

So how about a 3 in 1 Washer-Dryer-Folder? It goes through a wash cycle, then a dry cycle, and finally a fold cycle.

Folding machines exist, so the idea is not completely impossible. This washer-dryer combo would simply have a folding machine integrated somewhere in its body.

It would leave you with a nice, clean, folded pile of laundry, which would be wonderful.

Cell Phone Signal Canceler
Posted on 05.05.05 by Patent My Ideas @ 2:24 pm

This device distorts the signals to and from all cell phones within a certain radius of you. Perhaps your hearing radius (i.e. anything within hearing distance).

It also prevents new calls from coming in. That way, you won’t have to put up with the annoying ringtones of all the cell phones around you.

It is great for movie theaters, libraries, and even cars.

I don’t know if this device exists already, or if it would be illegal. If it exists, it should be marketed more strongly. If it’s illegal, a legal version should be made that follows all the rules.

Online Scheduling of Doctor’s Appointments
Posted on 04.28.05 by Patent My Ideas @ 8:37 pm

With the internet firmly planted in place, it is about time for doctor’s appointment scheduling to go online.

It would be nice to go to your doctor’s website and pick from several open time slots, rather than having to call your doctor and negotiate the time of your appointment.

Online doctor’s appointment scheduling would be especially useful in cases where you are juggling lots of commitments at once.

For example, if you are a mother who has to negotiate your schedule with your husband and four children before making any appointments, such a system would be a big improvement from the old way of scheduling by phone. You could just gather everyone around the computer screen and find the first open slot that works out for everyone’s independent schedule.

Salad Machine
Posted on 04.26.05 by Patent My Ideas @ 9:57 am

Like a bread machine, a salad machine turns raw ingredients into something delicious that would otherwise take time to create.

Put the head of lettuce in the main compartment. Add hard vegetables, such as carrots and cucumbers, to one of the side compartments to be sliced. Add soft vegetables, such as tomatoes, to another compartment to be sliced more carefully.

Add dressing to another side compartment to be tossed with the salad. Add cheese, nuts, and other small bits to another side compartment to be mixed in during tossing.

To clean it, you just have to fill the side compartments with soap and water, put the machine into cleaning mode, and simply turn it on. It washes itself, collecting bits and pieces in a single mesh-lined compartment for easy disposal.

Automatic Parking Meters
Posted on 04.25.05 by Patent My Ideas @ 10:08 pm

These parking meters automatically detect your car when you park at them. Then they charge your parking account automatically, rather than requiring quarters or parking cards.

In general, they are less of a pain than the parking meters that take quarters. You never have to scramble for quarters, buying unnecessary cups of coffee just so that you can get your parking meter change.

They don’t let you get away with anything, though. If you’re parked for more than two hours in a two-hour parking space, then you automatically get charged the price of a parking ticket.

Chair with Attached Blanket
Posted on 04.24.05 by Patent My Ideas @ 4:46 pm

This chair has an attached blanket, to keep you warm. Sit in the chair, and pull a flap of the blanket over yourself from each side of the chair.

Since the blanket is actually part of the chair, the seal between the blanket and the chair is much stronger than if you had covered yourself with an ordinary blanket.

To make the blanket easier to wash, the chair-blanket cover could be removable. Simply slip off the cover, put it in the laundry, and it’s fresh again.

This is a place for me to brainstorm and store random ideas and crazy inventions. Some are patentable; others are completely unpatentable, and the patent office will laugh if you try to patent them. I apologize in advance if my ideas are lousy.

Not all these ideas may be possible or patentable. In fact, most may be impossible and unpatentable.

Patent It Yourself

This book will help you get started with patenting my ideas.

I checked it out from the library in March 2005, and it explained the patent application process quite clearly. Don't buy it, though, just get it from the library.
